Don't Wait Until You Need CPR

Hey ladies! It’s February already! Can someone please tell me what happened to January! Wow! So here we are, February, the month of love. Some are preparing for Valentine’s Day with candy and flowers for that special someone or spending time with a love one. Also the first Friday in February is designated as “National Wear Red Day” as a symbol of support for women who suffer from heart disease. This a great time to pause and raise awareness of heart disease and the health effects on all women as well as support local fundraising events or become an advocate for the movement. When thinking of heart disease most are reminded of the process of CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) when one has gone into cardiac arrest where there is a sudden loss of blood flow and the heart stops. The CPR process is used to re-initiate blood flow and revive one who has stopped breathing and loss consciousness.  As women there are circumstances in life when our hearts STOP! We become heartbroken ...

It's Still God's Will

It is so easy to say and believe the Word of God in a situation when the end result is what we THINK should be in our favor.   “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose, Rom. 8:28” or “For I know the thoughts that I think (plan I have) toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end, Jeremiah 29:11.” Last week in talking about blessings, it’s a lot easier to see the light after a struggle when there is a reward: a promotion, better health, more money, a mate, some type of tangible asset. So what happens when life does not produce outcomes that we perceive as favorable? As we sympathize with the families of Kobe and Gianna Bryant and the other seven passengers aboard the helicopter crash that took their lives, many ponder as to why Kobe, why now? Tests of our faith often follow-up with these questions. As humans we tend to turn to each other for comf...

Sick again...

Somewhere around 3:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon I got this tickle in my throat. Immediately I got mad on the inside because I knew it was my sinuses…. ugh! In my mind I was like, “I’m getting sick, AGAIN”. The entire Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday I had a medical issue, then the flu, and now… But then I heard this story on the news this morning about a woman in Charlotte, N.C. that is having her second battle with brain cancer. You can read/listen/see the story by clicking on the link below or copying and pasting the link into your web browser: https://myfox8.com/2020/01/21/video-of-nc-husband-singing-to-wife-before-her-cancer-surgery-goes-viral/ "To me, cancer is a blessing because it's my way of telling people that no matter what it is, it's going to be OK," Roslyn said. And here I am complaining about my sinuses! Really!? A blessing is: -something conducive to happiness or welfare (Merriam-Webster dictionary) -to invoke divine care for (Mer...

Can’t See for Looking

We all have had a moment where we were looking for something that was right there before us but we were so consumed with looking for the item that we didn’t look in the obvious places. I remember once my grandma was looking for her glasses. She looked and looked, had us looking too. Low and behold, they were on her head the entire time. Funny but frustrating, right? Doesn’t life get that way sometimes? There are times when we treat life the same way. At some point in life we set expectations about who we want to be and the things we want to do in life. We tell ourselves what to expect out of life and wait for those things to happen yesterday. When the path does not travel the way we anticipate or life throws us curve balls then we are quick to seek AND be mad with God. “Lord you said I am the head and not the tail, you said you would give me the desires of my heart, but God where is my promotion, where is my spouse, where is, where IS, WHERE IS! “Oh yes we get mad in a big way with...
