Sick again...

Somewhere around 3:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon I got this tickle in my throat. Immediately I got mad on the inside because I knew it was my sinuses…. ugh! In my mind I was like, “I’m getting sick, AGAIN”. The entire Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday I had a medical issue, then the flu, and now…

But then I heard this story on the news this morning about a woman in Charlotte, N.C. that is having her second battle with brain cancer.
You can read/listen/see the story by clicking on the link below or copying and pasting the link into your web browser:

"To me, cancer is a blessing because it's my way of telling people that no matter what it is, it's going to be OK," Roslyn said.

And here I am complaining about my sinuses! Really!?

A blessing is:
-something conducive to happiness or welfare (Merriam-Webster dictionary)
-to invoke divine care for (Merriam-Webster dictionary)
-God’s favor and protection (Oxford dictionary)
-the antidote to curses (LASB NLT concordance)

Your sickness is a blessing, your situation is a blessing, your disappointment is a BLESSING! That “sickness” (maybe not a sickness but a personal struggle) is your opportunity to display your trust, your belief, your faithfulness, and your hope in God. We often say we want God to bless us but in return God wants to know that He has our total trust and faith. Be encouraged today and know it is going to be ok! Trust God and His plan for your life. You are blessed and God has a plan just for you!

Prayer: Father thank you for the blessings upon our lives.
We pray that as we continue to grow as women that we also grow in our trust and faithfulness to You.
Lord help us to recognize the blessings in EVERY situation,
even when there appears to be no hope, we know that hope lies in You.
Amen
